Skype Session - Analysing Data 17/11
We Talked a lot on sythesising data and bringing it all together across three strands. Using literature, our reflection and the research data just a smuch as eachother, some were worried that the data didnt have much 'meat' and not much to relate with, but using some literature that might oppose or have a relationship with the data is just as valuable.
Using rhetorical questions, and brining up the questions we may still have is good to include, we are still discovering and this course has just opened the door, it is a beginning to much more to come in our practice.
THEMES: These can chnage and should be interesting to note in our anaylsis if they have, it should be somethign that comes FROM the data not to INFORM the data we collect. The data we do include she be in relation to us and not just to include it because we have it, it is not a transcribing exercise. Something I definitely need to remember, as i felt i needed to give every participant a voice to everything they said, but there are limitations and again we are only doing a 12 week research project.
Remember teh reader! Give them enough context, does it make sense to them?
okay to use personal pro-nouns but only a couple times per paragraph, and participants quoted can be written as you would a quote from literature (ES BAPP FOCUS GROUP/ INTERVIEW)
It does not always need to be a comparison but a relationship in any form!
Great chat and really useful to remember some key points...
