Blog Research on Campus - Creativity (follow up from last blog)
At the Campus session we are going though other blogs that link to our most recent blog- mine on creativity and the idea of society squashing it. Inspired by Sir Ken Robinson's ted talk that Rachel Allen found : https://rawbapp.blogspot.com/2019/10/ken-robinson.html#comment-form
Chani Allott, Module 1- https://chanibapp.blogspot.com/2019/10/my-practice.htmlWho talks about Styles of teaching and the fact that creativity is not just a skill but a creative outlet. Interesting as it links to mine in terms of creativity being so important, and how the educational system should try and reflect this. Styles of teaching also interests me in my comment on how a small comment or idea can affect your way of learning and cause barriers.
Cathleen Limmerick, Module 1- https://cathleenlimerick.blogspot.com/2019/09/mapping-to-build-understanding.html?showComment=1570797276181#c4889221871075366343speaks of mapping with an interesting idea on 'logic taking you from A-B but Imagination can take you anywhere' liking to my thoughts on bring 'too scared' to be wrong and how mapping is important to discover your journey and therefore 'learning on the way', something I know I am particularly bad at.
Danielle Turner, Module 2- https://iamdanielleturner.blogspot.com/2019/03/why-do-you-dance-dmt.html inspired me by the simple question she was asked 'Why Do You Dance"? and the power it gives her, again linking to the creativity blog I posted about being wrong and the way creativity is squashed, when sometimes it may be important to reflect on why you do something at its rawest state and using that to help people.
Chloe Gentle, Module 2- https://chloegentles.blogspot.com/2018/11/the-notion-of-synthesis.htmlTalks on 'The Notion of Synthesis' linking to my earlier blog post 'Who Am I' especially her focus on web 2.0 and the posotives and negatives -she is also an actor like me. "I learnt that synthesis meant a combination of elements to create one whole thing."
Catherine Streggles, - Module 3 - http://charliesteggles.blogspot.com/2019/10/some-light-bedtime-reading.html
Talks of Intelligence and how we are measured (Howard Gardner's study) and how even though we may do very different things we are measured by the same system - which links into my blog on creativity and the TED TALK that inspired me ; how the education system is archaic and needs to reflect the way we function now- learning how to learn rather than learning for a job.
This research has linked quite a few 'areas of study' together but I guess the heading 'Creativity' is quite broad so lots of topics in others blogs are relatable. I think this is why I am finding it a challenge to order my thoughts and the topics I come across into a streamlined process or order- interestingly this course as a whole, really is putting me out of my comfort zone, trusting myself and stop being afraid to be wrong, ultimately what I was thinking about in my most recent blog.
